I am committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy will inform you as to how I collect and look after your personal data when you visit my website and purchase my products, as well as telling you about your privacy rights and how the law protects you.

The type of personal information I collect

Personal data, or personal information, means any information about an individual from which that person can be identified. It does not include data where the identity has been removed (anonymous data).

I currently collect and process the following information:

  • Personal identifiers, contacts and characteristics (for example, name and contact details) collected at www.nurturewithlydia.com (the website)

  • Financial Date - including payment card details

  • Transaction Data - including details about payments to and from you and other details of products and services you have purchased from me

  • Marketing and communications data - including your preferences in receiving marketing from me and your communication preferences

  • Information regarding clients’ antenatal and postnatal journeys including medical and health information of both adults and minors

  • Images you may send to me of you feeding your baby/child (including breastfeeding, bottle feeding and food)

I also collect, use and share Aggregated Data such as statistical or demographic data for any purpose. Aggregated Data may be derived from your personal data but is not considered personal data in law as this data does not directly or indirectly reveal your identity. For example, I may aggregate your Usage Data to calculate the percentage of users accessing a specific website feature. However, if I combine or connect Aggregated Data with your personal data so that it can directly or indirectly identify you, I treat the combined data as personal data which will be used in accordance with this privacy notice.

How I collect your personal data:

Direct Interactions:

You may give me your Identity, Contact and Financial Data by filling in forms or by corresponding with me by post, phone, email or otherwise. This includes personal data you provide when you: purchase my products or services;create an account on my website;subscribe to my service or publications;request marketing to be sent to you;enter a competition, promotion or survey; or give me some feedback.  

Automated technologies or interactions:

As you interact with my website, I may automatically collect Technical Data about your equipment, browsing actions and patterns. I collect this personal data by using cookies, server logs and other similar technologies. I may also receive Technical Data about you if you visit other websites employing my cookies. Third parties or publicly available sources:

I may receive personal data about you from various third parties as set out below: Technical Data from analytics providers such as Google; Contact, Financial and Transaction Data from providers of technical, payment and delivery services such as credit card payment providers.  

If you fail to provide personal data:

Where I need to collect personal data by law, or under the terms of a contract I have with you and you fail to provide that data when requested, I may not be able to perform the contract I have or am trying to enter into with you (for example, to provide you with goods or services). In this case, I may have to cancel a product or service you have with me but I will notify you if this is the case at the time.

I will only use your personal data when the law allows me to. Most commonly, I will use your personal data in the following circumstances:

  • Where I need to perform the contract I am about to enter into or have entered into with you.

Marketing

You will receive marketing communications from me if you sign up to receive email communications, have requested information from me, purchased goods or services from me or if you provided me with your details when you entered a competition or registered for a promotion and, in each case, you have not opted out of receiving that marketing.

How I share your personal information

This website may include URLs to third-party websites, plug-ins and applications. Clicking on those links or enabling those connections may allow third parties to collect or share data about you. I do not control these third-party websites and am not responsible for their privacy statements. When you leave my website, I encourage you to read the privacy notice of every website you visit.

Data relating to children

I will not collect data relating to children without the express permission/consent of a parent or legal guardian. The kind of information I process relating to children is listed below:

  • Child’s name

  • Date of birth

  • Medical history (if appropriate)

  • Gender

  • Allergies

  • Images or videos of children feeding

This data falls into what is known as “special category data” as set out above. My lawful basis for processing this data is contained within Article 9 2 (a) General Data Protection Regulations.

Data Retention

I will only retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes I collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements.

To determine the appropriate retention period for personal data, I consider the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the personal data, the potential risk of harm from unauthorised use or disclosure of your personal data, the purposes for which I process your personal data and whether I can achieve those purposes through other means, and the applicable legal requirements.

By law I have to keep basic information about my customers (including Contact, Identity, Financial and Transaction Data) for six (6) years after they cease being customers for tax purposes.

In some circumstances I may anonymise your personal data (so that it can no longer be associated with you) for research or statistical purposes in which case I may use this information indefinitely without further notice to you.

Your right of access - You have the right to ask me for copies of your personal information.

Your right to rectification - You have the right to ask me to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask me to complete information you think is incomplete.

Your right to restriction of processing - You have the right to ask me to restrict the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.

Your right to object to processing - You have the right to object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.

Your right to data portability - You have the right to ask that I transfer the personal information you gave me to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.

You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, I have one month to respond to you.

What I may need from you

I may need to request specific information from you to help me to confirm your identity and ensure your right to access your personal data (or to exercise any of your other rights). This is a security measure to ensure that personal data is not disclosed to any person who has no right to receive it. I may also contact you to ask you for further information in relation to your request to speed up my response.

Time limit to respond

I try to respond to all legitimate requests within one month. Occasionally it may take me longer than a month if your request is particularly complex or you have made a number of requests. In this case, I will notify you and keep you updated.
